I want you to have an idea of the very little that people in Timor have so that you can appreciate the very much that your laptops would bring to young women there.
I took the following photos when I was teaching Computer Engineerig in Dili from March to August this year. On the first one you see me with a good friend's familly (wonderful people!) and on another one, you see the interior of their house. So this is a 'privileged ' Dili's citizen (one with access to the University) familly house, in the mountains. At night the family gathers around the old radio to hear the news. Cost of the Internet is 3.000 USD a month for a 256 kbps connection.
As you can see, your laptops would truly make a difference for young women in Dili, Timor!
